Key Information

  • Sarah Alhadah, a 25-year-old woman from Sana'a, wants to make a difference for her community, especially helping those most affected by the conflict. She completed her studies at a medical institute and earned a certificate to work as a doctor's assistant.
    UNOPS impact in Uzbekistan

    • Supported the government’s COVID-19 response programme with the procurement and installation of life-saving laboratory and medical supplies for eight key institutions in Uzbekistan.
    • Assessed, identified and elaborated on the scope of green and sustainable infrastructure, utility services, and equipment needed to develop a feasibility study for two hospitals in the Aral Sea region in partnership with the WHO.
    • Working with the government and ministries to improve the accessibility and quality of oncological healthcare services in 13 regions nationwide.
    • Implementing a project to increase Uzbekistan’s resilience to the COVID-19 pandemic and future epidemics through infrastructure works and procurement of medical, laboratory, radiological and ICT equipment for laboratory and treatment facilities across the country.
