The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)
For ALL women and girls
We join the world in celebrating International Women’s Day under the theme: “For ALL women and girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”
In Kharkiv, Ukraine, an all-women construction team is leading the rebuilding of schools damaged by war.
This year marks a double anniversary – 30 years since the historic Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action and 30 years of UNOPS delivering impact worldwide. The Beijing Platform remains the most ambitious global blueprint for women’s rights and while progress has been made, persistent inequalities remind us that gender equality must remain central to development.
From expanding access to education and healthcare to strengthening women’s leadership, the fight for gender equality is far from over. Investing in women and girls means investing in stronger, more resilient societies. By empowering the next generation – especially young women and adolescent girls – we can drive lasting change.
For three decades, we have been committed to acting for gender-responsive solutions in infrastructure, procurement and project management.
Join us in taking action and explore how we’re working to build a more equal future.
Let us restate our commitment to push for a more inclusive and equal world. By standing up against discrimination in our projects and workplace, by breaking down barriers to women's full participation and by supporting women's leadership and amplifying voices that have been silenced.
