In partnership with UNDP and El Salvador’s Ministry of Public Works, UNOPS is helping the country protect itself from future climate-related risks.

Some 63,000 small farmers living in rural poverty and operating in vulnerable ecosystems will benefit from a series of environmental studies in Peru.

New school facilities are helping nearly 7,000 children from the Kilinochchi District in the northern region of Sri Lanka access education services in a safe and child friendly environment.

To celebrate UNOPS 20th anniversary we will be exploring some of our past achievements. This includes our work in 2006, where following the civil war, Nepal was left littered with landmines and explosive remnants of war.

A UNOPS-supported small grants programme has provided financial and administrative support to Iraqi non-governmental organizations (NGOs) all over the country, allowing them to provide vital assistance to internally displaced persons (IDPs).

UNOPS is providing 170 Roma families, who were living in informal settlements, with support to find new homes.

At the height of the conflict in the summer of 2014, over 500,000 Palestinians were displaced from their homes. Approximately 108,000 Palestinians remain homeless. UNOPS is working with UN agencies and government partners to respond to residents’ needs.

The Darfur Urban Water Supply Project has helped improve the availability of clean water for over 240,000 people in four state capitals in western Sudan.

In a remote area of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), 1,200 kilometres from the capital Kinshasa, 12 bridges have helped open access to local markets, benefitting some 340,000 people.
