UNOPS commits to supporting Serbia’s sustainable development
UNOPS Executive Director speaks to Serbian leaders regarding assistance to development projects in the country.
President Aleksandar Vučić emphasized the importance of UNOPS professional support in the implementation of development projects for comprehensive reforms in Serbia, as well as for the country's ongoing process of European integration. Both President Vučić and Prime Minister Ana Brnabić thanked UNOPS for the assistance it has provided, in particular for support repairing the damage caused by flooding in 2014.
“I would like to thank UNOPS for all of its support in Serbia’s recovery after the floods in May 2014,” said Prime Minister Brnabić. “With your help, efficient reconstruction and cooperation with local self-governments, we overcame these challenges."
UNOPS has partnered with the Republic of Serbia for more than a decade. Together we have successfully responded to emergency needs, and supported long-term development and social inclusion. We are committed to helping Serbia build a sustainable future for all.
"The United Nations in Serbia is our reliable partner in the development of the country, especially in the area of social inclusion," said Ivica Dačić, Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The total value of projects UNOPS has worked on in Serbia is more than 130 million Euros.
