Announcement of closure of UNOPS office in Helsinki
Following a decision of the UNOPS Executive Board to phase-out activities related to the former Sustainable Investments in Infrastructure and Innovation (S3i) initiative, UNOPS can now confirm that the former S3i office in Helsinki will be formally closed as of 31 December 2023.
This decision was taken by the UNOPS Executive Director, and officially communicated to the Government of Finland on 5 September.

Requests that UNOPS management implement all outstanding S3i-related recommendations and actions contained in the comprehensive response plan without delay and work towards completely phasing out the S3i initiative;

Please note that this closure does not impact regular UNOPS project activities in support of United Nations partners in Finland.
