Ahead of the Summit of the Future, UNOPS recognizes the need to bring a global youth perspective to the challenges and opportunities facing present and future generations. The UNOPS Youth Engagement Platform, spearheaded by the organization’s Executive Director, has been established to serve in an advisory capacity.

Young people have the energy, creativity and the tireless push for bold actions that our world needs, to drive real change for people and the planet. We have a shared responsibility to give them the voice and the power to shape a future that is theirs.

Jorge Moreira da Silva - UNOPS Executive Director

Operating under the motto ‘30 below 30, to get to 2030’, the platform will inform UNOPS approaches to anticipate and address new challenges. It will help strengthen the inter-generational perspectives that shape practical solutions with enough power to accelerate sustainable development and the 2030 Agenda.

UNOPS Youth Engagement Platform now calls on young leaders from around the world to apply for this unique opportunity to help shape a more sustainable and inclusive future.

The Sustainable Development Goals are the core of what we do. They matter to me because they play a critical role in addressing 21st century challenges – which must be examined through the youth lens. Our lens.

UNOPS is looking for young leaders between the ages of 17 and 29 who bring a passion for sustainable development, demonstrated through diverse experiences. We value the unique perspectives and contributions from individuals of all backgrounds, particularly those from historically underrepresented and marginalized communities.

"Members of UNOPS Youth Engagement Platform will be ambassadors of our work all over the world. In addition to the creativity they will bring, they will strengthen the inter-generational perspectives that accelerate progress towards the Global Goals, and most importantly contribute to ideas that shape their future,” said Valerie Kushata, UNOPS Director of People and Culture.
