UNOPS provides services in infrastructure, procurement, and project, financial and human resources management in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo). Through the construction of sustainable infrastructure, we support our partners in a range of areas, including agriculture, health, and peace, security and stabilization. We also provides fund management services and supports our UN partners with human resources contracts management.

From Kinshasa, UNOPS DR Congo provides operational support for projects in Angola, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, the Comoros, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Madagascar, Mauritius, Rwanda, and São Tomé and Príncipe,  and Seychelles.

  • UNOPS Impact in Central Africa and DR Congo

    • Built and improved roads, bridges and other transportation infrastructure – often in remote areas – to enhance access to markets, health services and economic opportunities.
    • Helped strengthen the national health system through the construction and rehabilitation of 132 health centres, 27 storage depots for vaccinations and 16 regional distribution centres for drug supplies.
    • Constructed water infrastructure to provide 45,000 people living in rural areas with access to safe drinking water as well as supported the establishment of community-led water management committees.
